Fashion has different meaning to different people across the world, from east to west every culture and race defines fashion differently.To me fashion it means expression of myself and how i project that expression to the outside world. Growing up in a conservative household it was difficult trying to have your own sense of style as what was bought my parents no matter how hideous and unflattering it might have been was what you had to go parading yourself in, because to them we had to be dressed in an acceptable manner, a manner in which would not give reason for the neighbors to talk about. This meant no self expression was allowed or a case of indifference was permitted.

Situation:  A couple of good friends reunited many years later, Daniela1 now, is a fashion designer and she is an expert on fashion team, they start to talk about the importance of fashion in our life and the strong relation between the fashion and the life styles.

Daniela2: Dani! Are you? Good to see you

Daniela1: Good to see you too, how are you?

Daniela2: I’m very well and you? Talk me about your life!

Daniela1: I’ m very well. Now I’m a fashion designer, in the last years I have worked in a French Company and yesterday I arrived of my first business trip.

Daniela2: That’s amazing, Congratulations!

Daniela1: Thank you Dani, tell me about you.

Daniela2. Now, I have my own company, and that is wonderful. I have a new apartment and I’m living with my husband and my little dog Sammy and you have to visit us.

Daniela1: Off course, thanks.

Daniela2: And witch city of France have you stayed in?

Daniela1: I have been living in Paris, the fashion capital. It is an amazing City, with an amazing touristic places and fashion lovers everywhere. I love it!

Daniela2: Great! But the fashion style in Paris is similar to fashion in Colombia?

Daniela1: No, actually, it’s very different because the lifestyle is very different. For example in Paris is very common to wear jackets and coats, because with the season, especially with the winter, people need to be warm.

Daniela2: Oh, I understand. The fashion depends of many things like a site, culture, personality and the era.

Daniela1: That is true. For example with the years, the people have changed their style because it has changed their manners and their life style.

Daniela2: yes, In line with progress in other areas, clothing developed closer relationships with art, and an increased sense of freedom was expressed in simple yet elegant designs, with carefully selected fabrics, and an intelligent use of color.

Daniela1: Yes, for example in 1920’s dresses were lighter, brighter and shorter than ever before. Fashion designers played with fabric colors, textures and patterns to create totally new styles of dress.

Daniela2: you’re right, if the progress of that time had not been so strong, the people, especially women, have never changed their dress looks

Daniela1: And in the olden times, fashion was regarded as the possession for the high class people who party every day. But, as time and thinking of people have changed, the view about fashion also changed.

Daniela2. Yes! For example in modern times, some teenagers wear a very strange clothes, and that is related with modern tendencies, with the music and the consumerism culture, the women wear very short dresses and skirts, I wish they was more demure and conservative.

Daniela1: You’re right. But also the music is very important in our fashion and life style. For example, in 1980’s was very common the strong colors with the disco fever

Daniela2: The people used to enjoy the music, to go out with their friends and to dance a lot.

Daniela1: Yes, the 80’s was a wonderful time. I wish these times came back.

Daniela2: yes! Is true that the fashion expressed many times, our personality, our manners, our culture also our feelings, but we can judge the people for their appearance.

Daniela1: yes Dani, the fashion is beautiful, funny and important for us, but it isn’t all.

Daniela2: Oh no! I remembered that I have to go a business date. It was a pleasure to talk with you.

Daniela1: Ok, Dani I loved to see you. I hope talk with you again.

Daniela2: Off course. Take care.

Daniela1: Bye. Take care.
